# Auto Nickname Auto Nickname is an addon for [Name Tag](https://lode.gg/plugin/nametag) that automatically assigns random nicknames to players when they join the server. It can also reassign nicknames when players die and respawn. --- ## Requirements - **Java 21** or higher - **Paper** 1.21+ (Folia supported) - **Name Tag** plugin ## Optional Dependencies - **Bookshelf** — When installed, death renicking triggers on respawn instead of on death. ## Features - **Auto Nickname on Join** — Players are automatically assigned a random nickname when they join. - **Renick on Death** — Optionally assigns a new random nickname when a player dies. - **Bypass Support** — OPs and players with the bypass permission are excluded. - **Toggle at Runtime** — Admins can enable or disable auto nicking without restarting. ## Installation 1. Install the [Name Tag](https://lode.gg/plugin/nametag) plugin. 2. Download Auto Nickname from [lode.gg](https://lode.gg/addons/auto-nickname). 3. Place the JAR into your server's `plugins/` directory. 4.
